Textile industrial zone project in Garoua: SODECOTON and CCIMA on board

With over 390,000 tonnes of seed cotton produced, the Septentrion is moving to add value to its fibre locally through spinning, weaving and industrial garment-making.

The North Region is consolidating its position as Central Africa’s cotton capital. Ahead of FECIS 2026, the Chamber of Commerce and SODECOTON presented the outline of the future Garoua textile industrial hub, which aims to raise the local processing rate from 2% to over 25% by 2030.

This major project benefits from the incentives of the 2013 investment law and will offer set-up facilities to partner manufacturers.
